Jomolhari Base Camp Trek 12 Days
A demanding eight-day trek to the foot of Mount Jomolhari (7,326 m), crossing two passes above 4,900 m, with built-in acclimatization at Jangothang base camp and the iconic Tiger's Nest hike before the trek begins.
About this trip
Jomolhari is Bhutan's second-highest peak and one of the most photographed mountains in the Himalayas. This trek takes you to its southern base camp at Jangothang (4,080 m), then over two high passes (Nyele La 4,930 m and Yale La 4,930 m) before descending back to Thimphu. The route covers about 110 km of trekking with significant altitude gain. We schedule Tiger's Nest on day 2 as part of acclimatization, then a rest day at Jangothang before crossing the passes. This trek requires good fitness; previous multi-day hiking experience strongly recommended. Best season is April to mid-June and late September through early November.
